This is a small whole food market in Santa Monica. As usual, they always provide fresh and organic foods. I like their meat department, the guy was very nice and helpful in assisting us with the meat. Thumbs up for this. This location has more protein bars than others.

This is my regular Whole Foods as it is just a few blocks from my apartment...ahhh, but way up that hill!Conveniently located at the corner of Van Ness and California this WFM location is easy to access by Muni or even the cable car as well as two pretty large parking lots (that are free while shopping).  The bottom floor is a small cafe area with a few snacks and the pre packaged bags for people who shop online and your stuff will be ready there for you.  Upstairs, a fairly standard WFM. This location is a bit smaller than other ones in the city but it does have everything you need.  Friendly staff, always clean and the shelves are stocked with organic overpriced goodies galore!I typically come here for some specialty vegan items and to hit up the hot bar before headed over to the Park.  The only compliant is that the hot bar is literally the same thing every time I go. It would be nice to have a bit of variety to choose from, but what they do offer is always fresh and abundant. The checkout lines here look like they go on for days but actually the employees are super quick and the lines fly by (unlike the unbearble long wait down the street at TJs).  Just found out that WFM has an app with special app-specific coupons for deals like $2 off the salad bar, 20% off prepared items, etc, worth the download to save a few extra bucks!

Similar to the lower Haight location, this SF Whole Foods location is just as much of a cluster fuck. There's ALWAYS a line at check-out (which is inevidable when you've only got about 10 cashiers for the whole store. The checkout lines are arranged perpendicular to the rest of the store...and the first 5 or so cashiers are right in front the product section. This really causes space issues in the produce section when you're trying to get to your fresh veggies and fruits....and you can't tell if someone is waiting in line to check out...or just standing there trying to get out of the way.Items are generally pretty well-stocked, but plan to spend anywhere from 10-20 minutes waiting in line to check out.

I am not from San Francisco however I am a huge Whole Foods fan.  I have been to whole foods in over 10 different cities.  The Pro's: lot's of good to go choices. The cons: not enough cashiers, the seating/dining areas are a joke.  This is a very busy whole foods and the lines to check out were down the produce isle.  It was CRAZY busy and the staff was getting a lot cranky.

This is a review for the sandwich counter, as it may be the worst I've ever experienced at a Whole Foods. Last weekend we intentionally stopped by the get a turkey sandwich before heading to the A's game. BIG MISTAKE. I filled out the form and got a disgusting sandwich that was completely not what I'd ordered. I was stuck with a turkey sandwich with avocado and tons of red onion. No mustard, lettuce or anything else I'd ordered. I threw the sandwich out and went and got some greasy food at the coliseum. Seriously Whole Foods??!?! I expected more.

My actual order, definitely not what I received. Eww!!! My actual order, definitely not what I received. Only an hour later when sitting down for a nice picnic across town did I realize that they'd made my sandwich (tomatoes, pickles, lettuce, yellow mustard, and turkey) by putting the entire thing together and then moving it to the panini press for a few minutes. This meant grilled pickles, soggy lettuce, and very greasy bread. Ew, and pretty clueless of the staff at WF. Re: parking, this lot is impossible. Is there anyway to redraw the lines so that cars can actually fit into the spaces? I frequently have to drive around a few times before I can find a spot with enough space for my (very small, two door) car. Read more 6/16/2016

Whole Foods Market rocksReason?I really like the selection of hot and cold foods they feature. If you are looking for lunch that is quick, fresh, delicious and ready to eat, then Whole Foods got you covered. Their food comes out freshly prepared which truly indicates deliciousness. A lot of the team members are very friendly and the service is very good.*If you are looking for the pastries and coffee counter, it is on level 1 facing the California St entranceSome of the selections I tried include:- breakfast potatoes- breakfast sausages- roasted potatoes- mashed potatoes (with holiday turkey gravy)- mac & cheese- steamed rice- tortellini- turkey enchiladaOverall, positive first experience here and I enjoyed it.Reasons for rating:- clean facility (+1)- friendly team members (+1)- good selections of prepared food items (+1)- outdoor (lot) / indoor (garage) parking (+2)Nearby public transportation options:A. 47 Van NessB. 49 Van Ness / MissionC. This is a very long overdue review of my nearest Whole Foods. Strengths:Friendly staffWalking resident friendlyGood productNeeds Improvement:Placing so many carts and baskets into such a confined space feels like bumper cars at an amusement park. It would be nice to see a Whole Foods in the FiDi. There would be no need for parking which all but does not exist at this location.

The set up of the sandwich counter is terrible for one, especially when they are busy like they were today. On an average day, this location here is either hit or miss and today it was a definite MISS!! Long story short, I couldn't even eat my sandwich today because the lady who made it drenched it in vinegar!! The first bite I can't even begin to describe.  It was super sour and  overpowering.  The smoked turkey also had a very odd taste to it, I couldn't quite figure it out.  I tried to eat around the areas that I could see had vinegar all over it but that was pretty pointless.  The lettuce was covered in vinegar, the sandwich just wreaked!!  At $8 a sandwich, it is really frustrating when they cannot get their orders right.  Sadly, if you're a sandwich lover much like I am, don't have high hopes at this location.  It's almost like you have to prepare yourself for disappointment because this is not the first time I have had to throw my sandwich away from here. Eh, oh well I guess.I would love to say I won't return here, but let's be honest...their chocolate eruption cake is the BOMB! I won't however be back for their sandwiches.

You know when you've been looking forward to a tasty slice of pizza all afternoon?  Some advice, don't get it here.  Got a slice of pepperoni and cheese and it went in the garbage.  It was a mushy, greasy mess. That is bad coming from somebody who happily eats cold Papa Johns in the car.  Complaining about this Whole Foods is one of my hobbies.  Yuck!

My friends and I were having a wine and cheese night. Since they live close to this Whole Foods, we stopped by on Saturday, October 10th around 6:45pm for all our ingredients. We grabbed three Cheeses, two Salami, some Fruit (grapes and pears), Crackers, Olives, Cornichons and Marcona almonds. I adore their selection of cheeses. And the ladies at the cheese counter were super helpful. We got a yummy blue cheese, a truffled gouda and a manchego. I didn't pick out the salami, so I'm not sure what we got, but I liked the spicier one. It was tasty.Whole Foods is a great one stop shop for impromptu wine and cheese nights. I can't speak on their selection of wines as my girlfriend had plenty at their house. But the cheese section carries great variety. And wonderful customer service!

Now I get a lot of flack from grocery shopping primarily at Whole Foods. Such things said are: It's too expensive hence the nickname "Whole Paycheck", their parking sucks, workers are too cool for school hipsters, you can't find any item under a dollar, and your mandatory attire has to be Lululemon when dressing "on the go,"Look. I don't give a shiet. Ghetto people need organic goodness too. I looooove their produce. Vibrant and fresh, organic and most of the time, locally grown. As a supporter of local farms and fair trade, I enjoy the fact that I don't need to give much thought when grocery shopping here. Their vendors and producers are ethical in their practice and pride themselves in delivering the highest quality inventory. Not only is it about food, but even down to their sustainable and Earth friendly household bath and body products. So don't be calling me boogie. I'm just Klassy with a capital K. BooyahBy the way, Whole Foods is proactive in giving back to the local community as well as developing countries. As someone who used to eat from food banks during rough times, I am appreciative of their efforts and contributions, and will continue to support this wonderful establishment.By the way, I do wear Lululemon every so often when entering the store. I promise you it's not premeditated.

I love Whole Foods. If I were rich, I would make this my default grocery shop. Too bad whole foods is pretty expensive for most items. The selection of produce and grocery items they have are always fresh. Every time I come here I always see the staff unpacking produce onto the shelves. Also, if you have any questions about ANYTHING, ask a staff and they are more than willing to help you. The hot bar is also very delicious but also very expensive. Rumors are stay away from the sandwiches and the pizza. It can get pretty crowded on weekends!

Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2015Whole Foods Market Franklin is located in the San Francisco neighborhood of Lower Pacific Heights. My first visit here was on a Sunday morning around 11 a.m. The parking garage was a nightmare. Upon entering I noticed there were a bunch of front parking spots reserved for those attending a nearby church. The parking slots are tiny and my Honda Odyssey Elite van just barely fit into a spot. Like other reviews mentioned- there were a ton of cars, people honking and just a complete sense of chaos in the parking garage. We were lucky to find a spot, grab a cart and head into the WFM and catch the elevator to the main floor.Their floral department was very well maintained. They had a fantastic selection of fresh flowers- Ecuadorian roses, hydrangeas, mix bouquets, potted orchids. Kimberley in the floral department was very helpful- I was able to pick a beautiful bunch of Ecuadorian roses and she arranged them nicely for me in a glass vase while I shopped. It was a Sunday and the entire market was packed with people. The produce section was filled with fresh organic fruits and veggies but given the small footprint of the market- everything was in limited selection (unlike the other WFM with larger footprints). The meat department was a decent size and the butchers were very friendly and helpful, I was able to pick up items I needed like fresh ground beef, chicken, steak and pork chops. The fresh bread area was entirely picked over and I scored the last Acme Sourdough Baguette. Overall, the customer service in the entire market was friendly. I was able to purchase my groceries and pick up my beautiful floral arrangement. Next, time I'll come here earlier to beat the crowd. Noelle's NotesSmaller than other WFMDecent selection of almost everythingHorrible, horrible, horrible parking garage!

My favorite WHOLE FOODS in the city!I'm in love when you walk in, its full of COLOR. from the fruits, veggies and flowers. It's freaken amazing. Also that this whole foods is one of the biggest one in the city with parking. Even tho it's always packed. Lines can get pretty long but it moves pretty fun. Love their hot food and bakery aisle. They have like everything more than most WF in the city.

Your typical Whole foods. Location is pretty small but gets the job done. Hot food bars & salad bar on point. Lots of organic produce and vegan options. Staff were doing their own thing but i came to just pick up some watermelon & a pressed juice!

Snack! Snack! 10/21/2015

I hate paying ridic prices for groceries but since I've been to Molly Stone's I know that WholeFoods is not the end of the bar. I go here especially for the fantastic fresh and hot food selection - lime rice and Chicken Masala (although WF's take on Tikka Masala is, let's say, interesting), and a coconut water - my lunch is ready. I further love that they updated their register so you can pay with your phone (Android Pay or Apple). There's an outside seating area, if you don't mind the street noise and the occasional pigeon that jumps from table to table. We're in the city, after all.Downstairs, a nice coffee bar with more seating - although taken most of the time.

Went in for a sandwich for $7, got back to work, and it fell apart.  Just some hastily put together roll with some chicken and lettuce thrown in.  Why do I always feel ripped off when shopping at any Whole Foods?

I think I'm the last person on earth to rant and rave about Whole Foods since they're for everything I'm against... healthy eating, organic this, non-GMO that, vegan-tarian, etc etc etc... But I'm turning over a new leaf, the salad leaf, ironically, and trying to eat better to shed some weight and fat. Whole Foods on Franklin and California is a nice 15 min walk from my office so that's my daily cardio, I guess. And their salad bar and hot food bar is quite tasty. I've only had the kale salads (there's three kinds) and roasted beets so far. At $8.99/lb it's not as wallet-robbing as I previously thought. I think my very first experience with Whole Foods had me sticker shocked but then again I did pile my box high as if it was an AYCE buffet. One suggestions: put a scale by the salad bar so people have an idea of they're spending.. But I guess that can lead to people dumping any extra foods and cross contaminating the whole bar. Oh wells...

They have a great bakery department. I love the vegan donuts($1.50) and the dutch crunch rolls ($1). They also have a good supply of dried pulses and grains - my favs are black rice and sweet green peas. Something I have yet to find in other location. Overall, probably the best supermarket within the 10-block square area.
